Two Birds, One Journey
When exhaustion and hope meet each other.
“Two birds on a wire one says, ‘Come on,’ and the other says, ‘I’m tired.’”
You and I, navigating this path of life, feel its cruelty weigh us down.
You can’t go on anymore, while I insist there’s more to see, that it will all be worth it somehow.
You don’t believe me. How could you, when they’ve lied to you so much?
You said, “Leave me behind. Go on and see what you’ve been waiting to see.
I’m done; I can’t walk anymore. My legs are sore, and my toes are bleeding.
But don’t stop, just keep walking. Don’t look behind. I’ll be right here if you need me.
I’ll bear whatever pain I can, sitting on this footpath, waiting to hear your stories.”
So, I gave you my shoes, wrapped my socks around your toes.
Hand in hand, we’ll walk together, sharing our pain,
and talk about the memories we made
not thinking about leaving you behind, for once.
You’ve been alone in this until now, but not anymore.
I’m here with you, giving you all my hope.
It’s going to be worth it; I know
